Bay Of Plenty

The Bay of Plenty is a sun-soaked slice of New Zealand’s North Island, famous for its golden beaches, vibrant towns, and lush landscapes. From Tauranga’s bustling waterfront to the quiet coastal gems of Whakatane and Opotiki, this region has a mix of adventure, relaxation, and culture for every traveller.

For nature lovers, there’s plenty to explore: surf at Mount Maunganui, hike up the volcanic cone for panoramic views, or wander through native forests and waterfalls. The coastline is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and boating, while inland you’ll find orchards, vineyards, and hot springs to soak away your worries. Rotorua is just a short drive away, offering geothermal wonders and cultural experiences if you want to combine two iconic destinations.

Culture and local life are also highlights here. The Bay of Plenty is steeped in Maori heritage, with marae, traditional performances, and local history to discover. Foodies will love the fresh seafood, farmers’ markets, and cafés that showcase the region’s vibrant produce.

After spending almost 3 years exploring the South Island, we'll soon be heading to the North Island to explore it intensively and show you all the best spots - watch this space!!
