Hawkes Bay

Hawke’s Bay is a sun-drenched region on the east coast of the North Island, famous for its art deco architecture, world-class wineries, and long stretches of golden beaches. It’s perfect for travellers looking for a mix of culture, food, and outdoor adventure.

Napier, the region’s main city, is a must-see for its perfectly preserved Art Deco buildings, quirky cafés, and vibrant local culture. Hastings, just a short drive away, is the heart of the wine region, with rolling vineyards producing some of New Zealand’s best reds and whites. Wine tours, cellar doors, and farm-to-table restaurants make this a paradise for foodies and wine lovers alike.

Nature and adventure are never far away. Coastal walks, cycling trails through vineyards, and the dramatic Te Mata Peak — with panoramic views over the plains and ocean — are all highlights. For beach lovers, there’s plenty of surf, sand, and quiet spots to relax, swim, or explore tide pools. Hawke’s Bay also has a growing arts and craft scene, local markets, and festivals that showcase the region’s creativity and community spirit.

After spending almost 3 years exploring the South Island, we'll soon be heading to the North Island to explore it intensively and show you all the best spots - watch this space!!
