We absolutely love exploring, whether it's at the beach, in the rainforest or along the river and this is usually the reason a 2-hour hike turns into a 4 hour one - because we're stopping constantly to take pictures of all the weird and wonderful we discover along the way.

Our best find so far on our travels are the blue mushrooms that popped up around Lake Matheson, in Fox Glacier on the West Coast. We had never seen anything so vibrant in New Zealand and were surprised to find that they're on the $50 note!

Being out in nature is a great way for Arabella and Sienna to explore and learn about the environment around them. It's also a great way for them to build various skills while making 'boats' out of sticks and leaves to sail in a small pond, by making huts from logs, branches and moss and by learning to take care of nature while playing in it.
