Nelson Tasman is one of those places that just makes you feel good. Sunshine almost every day, epic scenery in every direction, and the kind of laid-back vibe that makes it very hard to leave! It's one of our favourite regions to explore all year round.
Nelson itself has a bit of everything—quirky art, great little shops, weekend markets, and those golden beaches you dream about. You’re never far from nature here, whether it’s rolling hills or lush countryside.
And then there’s Abel Tasman National Park—probably one of the most beautiful coastal spots in the whole country. Think golden sand, crystal-clear water, and native bush that spills right down to the sea. Here you can hike, kayak, swim and just relax.
Just out of the city you’ll find places like Mapua and Motueka—cute little towns full of local flavour. You’ll find vineyards, breweries, artists, and those famous donuts everyone raves about.
Whether you’re into beaches, food, art or just getting outdoors, Nelson Tasman kind of wraps it all up in one spot. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and downtime and you should absolutely add it to your NZ travel list!
If you see “blog coming soon,” don’t worry—it won’t be for much longer! We’re working hard behind the scenes to finish everything in the next few weeks. We’re also adding heaps more guides, updating older blogs and making it SO much easier for you to plan your trip around New Zealand!
