QUEENSTOWN, ARROWTOWN & WANAKA
Queenstown, Wanaka and Arrowtown are some of the South Island’s top spots to explore, These towns bring loads of visitors each day, from all around the world.
Queenstown is famous as New Zealand’s adventure capital - bungee jumps, jet boating, epic hikes or simply taking in the views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. Even if you’re not chasing adrenaline, the scenery alone makes it worth the visit as it is there with every corner you turn.
Wanaka is just over an hour away and has a more relaxed pace but it’s no less stunning. The food scene here is fantastic and one of our favourite in NZ The popular Roys Peak is in Wanaka and it's a beautiful day hike with one of the most popular viewpoints in NZ.
Then there’s Arrowtown, a charming historic gold-mining village. Wander the quaint streets, check out the famous lolly store (the fudge is SO GOOD!) and if you’re visiting in autumn, Arrowtown is bursting with gold, yellow and red leaves.
These three towns sit amongst some of New Zealand’s most incredible landscapes. Whether you’re chasing thrills, enjoying great food, or just looking for a quiet moment in nature, this part of the South Island has something for everyone.
