We’re a New Zealand family of slow travellers with a deep love for exploring Aotearoa beyond the tourist trail. Born and raised in Auckland, it wasn’t until a life changing South Island road trip in 2021 that we truly saw the breathtaking depth of beauty our country holds! That journey lit a fire in us and in July 2022, we sold most of what we owned, packed out suitcases into a van and set off to explore New Zealand at our own pace.
Our philosophy is simple: travel isn’t just about ticking off the highlights, it’s about living along the journey. Slow mornings at small town cafes, going on hikes we've never heard about, getting up early on cold mornings to experience beautiful sunrises with a nice hot drink and exploring forgotten towns with stories to tell. We’ve traded in packed itineraries for real experiences and real people and found that’s where the magic is!
We travel with our daughters, Arabella and Sienna, who have climbed mountains, crossed swing bridges, chased waterfalls, panned for gold, learnt photography in beautiful spots and made friends from all over New Zealand (and the world!)/ They remind us daily that adventure is for everyone and that you don’t need to compromise wonder for comfort.
But we’re not just here to show you the postcard moments... we go deeper. You won’t just find the top 10 hikes or the most picturesque beaches here (although, yes, we absolutely still write about these!) you’ll also find quiet lakes no one talks about, short walks filled with birdsong and funky fungi and honest guides written from people who’ve actually been to these places and thoroughly explored the areas (not jut passing through for a day or 2).
